Paying tribute to the life story of portuguese grandmothers, Melanie Alves plans to interview as many grandmothers as possible from north to south and beyond borders, spreading her anthem “O Colo como Ativismo”!
Installation
An 8 meters high textile installation, mostly created by donated goods and textile waste. A House of memories where neither our objects nor our stories are replaceable.
Interviews
7 Portuguese grandmothers were interviewed about their life stories. Same questions were asked from their place of birth through their life hardships till present. 1st Memories, smell and interactions with their late grandmothers and their now grandsons were recounted. How does it feel to live in their own skin?
